Ranking Democrat Files Trump Impeachment Charges—But He’s Already Regretting It

If there’s a controversy swirling about President Donald Trump, you can be sure there’s a Democrat preparing to pull the impeachment rabbit out of his hat.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) is the latest Democrat to hop on the impeachment train. Like many of those that have already bought tickets, Cohen appears startlingly oblivious to how the impeachment process actually works.

Western Journalism passes along Cohen’s monumental contribution to society.

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., announced Thursday he will be introducing articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump in protest of the president’s reaction to the violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.

“After the President’s comments on Saturday, Aug. 12, and again on Tuesday, Aug. 15, in response to the horrific events in Charlottesville, I believe the president should be impeached and removed from office,” Cohen, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, said in a statement.

Hmmm. Alright, let’s play that game. I believe that a million dollars should appear in my bank account, and any tax liability that may appear for those funds should be removed.

Is that going to happen? No, it’s not. Wishing really hard for things doesn’t make it so.

Cohen’s not buying that, so he’s decided to press forward with his pipe dream.

“No moral president would ever shy away from outright condemning hate, intolerance and bigotry. No moral president would ever question the values of Americans protesting in opposition of such actions, one of whom was murdered by one of the white nationalists,” Cohen said.

Cohen said it was “morally and legally incumbent” upon him to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump because the president has “shown that he is incapable or unwilling to protect Americans from enemies, foreign and domestic.”

By scrolling through Cohen’s chest puffing statement, you’ll quickly realize that he’s suffering from the same lack of comprehension that the mainstream media is currently afflicted with.

Trump’s words have been parsed ad nauseum, and we’re not about to join in the fun. Whether you agree with what Trump said or not, he spoke clearly and succinctly.  We really don’t need talking heads to provide the tremendous public service of breaking down each and every syllable he uttered on an infinite loop.

Cohen has had his moment in the sun now. To that, we say bravo! Perhaps he can now resume wasting the time of his constituents in less egregious fashion.

And for God’s sake, Cohen – can you do that without releasing such a self-aggrandizing statement to let us all know what you’re up to?
